South Africa's Story

My name is Mark Nehrenz, and this is South Africa's Story, a media collection of videos, travel columns, and photographs from my time as exchange student in South Africa during the fall of 2008. South Africa's Story is told through five documentary video shorts and seven interactive travel columns.

The videos were posted to my website, themarksperience.com, when I was in South Africa, and the columns were written bi-weekly for our student newspaper, the Oklahoma Daily. In this collection of web content featured on the TV4OU website and teased on OU Nightly, I have for the first time brought together my print and video media to tell the larger story of my exchange experience in South Africa. With time to reflect back, I have enhanced the original travel columns with audio, video, and photo links sprinkled throughout the text.

Here in Oklahoma, people daily ask me to tell them stories from South Africa, and though I regularly tell tales over coffee or in formal presentations, it is my view that so much more can be gained by watching and reading stories from the ground in South Africa. So here they are!

Enjoy South Africa's Story.
